I’m sure you’ve heard of Etsy before – the online marketplace full of creative, useful and inspirational goods. But did you know you can buy almost everything you need for a fabulous furniture makeover right from merchants on Etsy? It’s a really great way to support small and family operated businesses, run by real humans. We LOVE buying products from Etsy for our furniture painting projects and staging. Today we’re sharing with you some of our favourite furniture painting products on Etsy!

We get asked all the time where we buy some of our favourite furniture painting products. The one place we mention that often surprises people is Etsy. It really shouldn’t come as a surprise since Etsy is a collection of independent, creative makers and sellers. And these small businesses ship right to your door! How perfect is that in these times of social isolation? Every time I go on Etsy I find things that are useful, inspirational and beautiful. Here are just a few of our favourite Etsy finds:
1 – Our favourite paints on Etsy
Many small retailers have their own Etsy storefronts where you can buy most of the supplies you would in the bricks and mortar stores. Some of our favourite paint brands even have their own Etsy storefronts!

2 – Our favourite styling items on Etsy
This is where Etsy really shines! There are so many great decor items available to complement your newly refinished furniture whether it’s for you to keep or accessorize your photos for sale. Some of our favourites include:
- Printable art – an excellent way to get art at an affordable price! You can download the prints and take to your local print shop!
- Blankets and pillows – soft knits and tribal patterns are some of our faves!
- Faux plants – eucalyptus and citrus are some of our favourite stems! We are also in love with this adorable juniper topiary!
- Baskets – great for add texture and style!
- Wall decor – weavings and wall baskets are some of our favourites!

Hardware is like jewelry for your furniture. It’s a great opportunity to give your piece some extra pizzazz. We’ve found lots of great unique knobs and pulls on Etsy. Below are some of our favourites!

4 – Our favourite tools & embellishments on Etsy
Etsy also has some of the basics you need for your furniture painting project, like paint brushes, as well as all those little extras like transfers and furniture salve.
- Furniture transfers – these easy to use rub on transfers add so much beautiful detail to a painted dresser! You can read more about how to apply them here.
- Furniture salve – deodorizes, restores, protects, beautifies, and rejuvenates furniture. The Lemon Verbena from Wise Owl just smells divine!

- Beautiful papers – we love to use wrapper paper or wall paper to line drawers or paper the back of hutches or shelves.
As you can see, there are so many great furniture painting products on Etsy! There has never been a better time to support a real human who has put their heart and soul into making or bringing together special and one-of-a-kind items. Even those items you would normally head to a big box store to buy can usually be found through a smaller merchant on Etsy.
