It’s been awhile since we showed you what we’ve been up to! We’ve been busy with the holidays and, of course, painting more furniture! Below are some of our most recent painted furniture makeovers. Who doesn’t love a good before and after? We know we do!
Woodland waterfall dresser
This little dresser was a roadside rescue. It’s best feature is the top “drawer” which is really a small pull out desk! We painted it in Cottage Paint’s Serenity Silk in a mix of Forest Shadow and Carbon. We replaced to top two knobs with the cutest fox pulls and we added the same charming woodland wrapping paper to the drawers that we used on the last buffet we did.
Eastlake buffet
We have fallen in love with the Eastlake style and we refinished this piece for ourselves. It has cover and peg joints so we know it dates to before the 1900s. We painted this charmer in Cottage Paint’s Country Manor (Serenity) and added a dark glaze to bring out the spoon carving details.
Custom pine refresh
We don’t do a lot of custom work, by choice. It gives me a lot of anxiety to try and meet a client’s expectations, not to mention the worry we might ruin someone’s precious heirloom! Occasionally we make an exception like we did with this 3 piece bedroom set for a friend. The old pine was replaced with many, many coats of bright and fresh Cottage White (by Cottage Paint). You can read more about how to paint white here.
The prize chair
Finally, our first piece of 2020 was a simply chair. Our motivation after the holidays was to try out Country Chic Paint and our 2″ Zibra paint brush, both items we had won on Instagram earlier in December. We painted the chair in Country Chic’s Elegance and sealed it with clear wax. Because January can be dreary around here, we chose a bold, bright fabric to cover the seat cushion.
Well now you are up to date on all our recent painted furniture makeovers! We are currently working on an absolutely gem of a Jacobean buffet so stayed tuned! What have you been painting lately? We’d love to hear from you in the comments below!
